About Us
Object Atelier specialises in bespoke fitted furniture and joinery for high-end residential and commercial clients. Our sister company, Benchspace, provides a shared workshop space to help start-ups and small businesses create their products using our facilities.
We're growing and are now looking for a Head of Design to lead our design and drafting team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic, collaborative workshop where design meets craftsmanship.
The Role
This is a full-time on-site role for a Head of Design at Object Atelier located in SE28, London.
Manage the design department and improve our design systems and standards.
Estimate design hours for new projects and plan team workload.
Carry out detailed site surveys and liaise with clients and directors on design decisions.
Complete client drawings, maintain drawing registers and keep procurement lists up to date.
Present designs for internal feedback and client approval.
Prepare production drawings and CNC files for manufacturing processes.
Assist with procurement and ensure smooth transition of projects from design to production.
What You'll Bring
Software Skills: Proficient in SolidWorks and Swood.
Skills: Strong problem solving, attention to detail and proactive attitude.
Adaptability: Willing to support a variety of roles within a small team.
Communication: Comfortable presenting designs to clients, directors and workshop teams.

Salary £45,000- £55,000
