Case Study: Lavington Street
Client: Whitepaper
Year: 2024
Location: Bankside, London
Project Type: Marketing Suite / Commercial Interior
Project Overview
Lavington Street is a purpose-built marketing suite overlooking Timber Square, a new mixed-use development inspired by Bankside’s rich industrial heritage and dynamic creative future. The space serves as both a functional workplace and an immersive introduction to the character of the broader development.
Furniture Design Approach
Working closely with Whitepaper, Object Atelier brought a refined, tactile sensibility to the project. The design focused on creating a space that feels grounded, warm, and considered - balancing commercial utility with crafted detail.
The suite features a series of bespoke elements that respond to the architecture and intended user experience:
A curved oak viewing platform that gently guides visitors toward the full-height glazing and view beyond
A thoughtfully designed tea point, acting as both a hospitality zone and visual anchor
Fabric wall panelling that softens the acoustic profile and adds depth to the interior palette
Custom oak media units integrated to support presentations while maintaining a residential-scale warmth
Materials and Palette
The use of natural oak, soft textiles, and clean architectural lines reflects the materiality of the surrounding development while offering a tactile and inviting environment. Each element was made to measure, supporting the client’s narrative of precision, care, and long-term vision.
Collaboration and Process
From concept to completion, Object Atelier worked in close dialogue with Whitepaper, ensuring each furniture design move aligned with the broader identity of Timber Square.
The result is an uplifting and energising space that acts as both a welcoming point of entry and a statement of intent for the site’s future.
