Case Study: 138 Cheapside Project
Client: Whitepaper
Location: Opposite St Paul’s Cathedral, London, UK
Joinery and Installation: Object Atelier
Project Type: Commercial | Bespoke Office Furniture

Project Overview

138 Cheapside is a prestigious office development located directly opposite St Paul’s Cathedral in the heart of London. This fully refurbished building offers premium fitted office spaces across the part 2nd and 4th floors, with units ranging from 3,223 to 13,128 sq ft. Designed for flexibility and modern working styles, the spaces are open, bright, and highly adaptable - ideal for businesses seeking both functionality and a refined aesthetic.

The Vision

Object Atelier was commissioned to design and manufacture all bespoke furniture throughout the office interiors. The objective was to create a calm, contemporary workspace that complements the building’s high-end commercial character. The resulting design is a harmonious blend of warm timber, khaki tones, and natural oak, offering both visual warmth and tactile comfort.

Key Elements

  • Tailored furniture selection: the project includes a curated range of custom furniture, developed to integrate seamlessly with the interior architecture. Light grey worktables contrast elegantly with oak finishes, bringing a subtle sense of luxury to everyday office use. A bespoke reception desk was crafted to make a strong first impression, setting the tone for a professional yet welcoming environment

  • Flexible co-working and collaboration areas: open-plan co-working spaces, meeting pods, and shared areas were designed with user comfort and flexibility in mind. Each zone features ergonomic layouts and premium materials to support agile working, encourage collaboration, and nurture a sense of community

  • Bespoke built-in features: a custom tea point and tea point island, integrated high bench and banquette seating, and dedicated Zoom rooms for remote and hybrid work

  • Japandi-inspired kitchen area: the office kitchen was designed in a Japandi style, combining Scandinavian simplicity with Japanese minimalism. The result is a serene, clutter-free space that echoes the overall design philosophy of understated luxury and intentional functionality

Collaboration and Results

This project was delivered in collaboration with Whitepaper, whose strategic approach helped bring the interior design vision to life. Together, Object Atelier and Whitepaper created a workspace that reflects the highest standards of modern office interior design - a space where teams can thrive and visitors are impressed from the moment they arrive.
